Performance

Yield Values are based on the specifications provided by the manufacturer of the installed equipment and the capacity of the inverter. If, after the project completion and the PV system's commissioning, the yield values fall below the estimated 45kWhrs in the first year, the contractor will take all required corrective measures, including the installation of additional equipment at their own expense to ensure the required output.

Solar Watt shall not be held accountable for the following conditions, as they are beyond our control:

  • Values do not represent guarantees of system performance.
  • Reasonable attempts have been made to model real world system performance.
  • Solar Watt Systems Inc. will not be held liable for discrepancy in actual system performance.
  • Solar Watt Systems inc. will not be held liable for discrepancies in any of the calculations listed above.

Warranty

  • The PV panels have a manufacturer's linear power warranty for 25 years and a product warranty for 12 years.
  • SMA inverters have a manufacturer warranty of 10 years, with an optional extension available at an additional cost.
  • The PV mounting system has a manufacturer warranty of 10 years, while the monitoring device has a manufacturer warranty of 2 years.
  • Workmanship and labour are warranted for 1 year after the installation date, excluding any Acts of God. Please note that warranties are provided by the manufacturers, not Solar Watt Systems Inc.

While Solar Watt Systems can assist with warranty transactions, it's important to be aware that freight charges, removal, and reinstallation are not covered under the manufacturer's guarantee agreements. The attached warranty documents from the individual manufacturers provide more details. Any costs for equipment replacement outside the warranty period will be absorbed by the customer, and diagnostic analysis call-outs will incur additional charges.

Insurance

As we proceed with the arrangements for your solar system installation, we highly recommend consulting with your insurance company to ensure comprehensive coverage for your investment in case of any damages.

Please note that Solar Watt Systems Inc's insurance responsibility concludes once the components of the PV system have been delivered to the site and/or partially installed on your property, even if the system has not been commissioned yet. Therefore, it is in the best interest of the Client to have the system insured to safeguard against unfortunate situations or Acts of God.

Force Majeure Clause

  • Neither Party shall be held liable for the full or partial non-performance of their obligations under this Agreement if such non-performance is a result of circumstances of Force Majeure. Events of force majeure include, but are not limited to, strikes, lockouts, fire, storm, flood, earthquake, war, rebellion, governmental law or restrictions, and any circumstances beyond the control of the contracting parties that arise after the contract's conclusion.
  • If any force majeure circumstances directly affect the fulfilment and performance of either party's obligations during the term of this Agreement, the term shall be extended for the duration of the force majeure.
  • In the event of force majeure circumstances prevailing for more than sixty days (60), the Parties shall have the right, mutually or individually, to partially or completely terminate this Contract without prejudice to any sums owing for any part performance rendered under this Agreement.

Secretary Departments' Approval

  • In compliance with the Laws of Barbados, a PV Licence from the Ministry of Energy is mandatory. Additionally, approvals from the Government Electrical Engineering Department (GEED) and the Barbados Light and Power Company Limited (BL&P) are also required.
  • Solar Watt Systems will handle the submission of all Applications on behalf of the Client, but necessary supporting documents must be provided by the Client to facilitate the installation process. The Applications will be forwarded to the Electric Light and Power Advisory Committee (ELPAC) for their recommendations to the Minister.
  • Upon receiving the planning decision, the applicant will be issued either an approval or refusal through the online system. In the case of approval, the applicant is required to make the license fee payment, and upon acceptance, the PV License will be issued through the system.

Operations & Maintenance (O&M)

We highly recommend and are pleased to offer operation and maintenance (O&M) services to the Client for a minimum of two (2) years following project completion. It is crucial to note that the Manufacturers’ warranty may become null and void if the PV system is serviced by others or if the recommended service procedures by the Manufacturer are not adhered to. Our comprehensive scope of works for O&M services includes:

  • Removing all debris from the surface of the panels, thereby ensuring the efficiency of the PV
    System.
  • Servicing and inspecting the fans from the inverters before re-installation.
  • Verifying all AC & DC connections on the inverters to ensure proper contact.
  • Checking the polarity of the cables to ensure they are suitable for carrying the required electric load of the PV System.
  • Recording all DC Voltages and Amperes of the PV System for performance monitoring.
  • Evaluating the strength of the PV strings using an Analyzer to identify various fault modes and locate electrical issues.
  • Our half-yearly estimated cost per service is $806.99 V.A.T. inclusive, providing you with reliable and professional maintenance to safeguard your PV system's performance and maximize its lifespan.

Contractor's Responsibility

  • The quote includes a high-quality steel sub-frame engineered for roof-mounted racking, capable of withstanding gusts of 150mph (3-seconds).
  • DC cables from the Grid-Tied Photovoltaic Array will be routed back to the proposed inverter area upon completion of the panel array installation.
  • The estimated completion and commissioning time is approximately forty weeks (40), subject to weather conditions and procurement schedule, while grid-connected projects must undergo the interconnection process with the BL&P, which may cause delays.
  • Electrical set-up and builders' work costs will be tracked separately, with any achieved savings passed on to the Client. Other costs beyond the provisional sum will be the Client's responsibility, plus 8.5%.
  • The installation period follows a work schedule from Monday to Thursday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm, and on Friday from 8:00 am to 3:15 pm, excluding bank holidays. Unforeseen circumstances beyond our control may require additional time to complete the job.
  • The quote includes web monitoring equipment, allowing remote monitoring of the PV System's performance from anywhere in the world. Daily updates will be sent via email, providing information on your CO2 reductions and savings.

Delivery

  • The anticipated delivery of Solar Panels and Inverters to the site is expected within 6 - 8 weeks, subject to stock availability.
